Burn Your Plastic Jesus

It sounds more like an event for Christians than for inviting friends who aren’t Christian to. I’m not sure how I feel about that.
By God’s hand, I’ve no doubt Driscoll will have a big impact on Christians who go, but it’s such a good opportunity to have a massive rally for people who are outside the church. Maybe they’re worried the place will pack out with Christians anyway…
(And they’re crazy not to have little stickers for people’s blogs. Crazy.)
Ben – thanks for the thoughts, we wrestled with the same ones, but at the end of the day we felt that MD was going to appeal more to Christians who (hopefully) will go out in a reformission type way to reach non-Christians anyway.
Love the idea of the stickers – working on it now.

G’day Bay,
Thanks for the comment. When I wondered aloud to my wife Sally about this, she understood it the same way you guys do – that Driscoll will (by the Spirit) move people to live the reformission in their lives. Maybe it’s a ‘teach a man to fish’ thing.
Is that something you could put on the website: a rationale for why it’s aimed at Christians. Maybe even with that kind of line: if we make it a mission, we’re not equipping the existing believers in the same way as if we enourage them.
Something like that, anway.
Cheers.
