Date Weekend
Jun 2nd, 2008 by Ben
Our city is finally becoming a world city (pic), and Sally and I spent the weekend enjoying its bounty.

We sat and drank coffee, read the paper, went to the World Press Photo exhibition and stayed over in a hotel.
Cordie went to Mum’s place, which they both loved, and we had some time to ourselves. A highlight was going to the Vintage CafĂ© at The Rocks.
It’s a terrible name for a fantastic restaurant, because it’s actually Spanish cuisine, with live Bossa Nova and excellent food. The menu is relatively limited, but it’s kind of a tapas setup. You choose maybe four or five dishes to share, which range from $6 to $16. Tasty.
We’re very thankful to Mum for looking after Cordie, and to God for providing us with money to pay for it, for sunny weather, and for each other.

sounds like a great weekend…I’m jealous
how was the photo exhibit??
i’ve seen the signs all over the city and keen to go.
do you rate?
that gorilla pic is pretty impressive
Yeah, the exhibition was good. It’s free, so it’s only a matter of finding the time, rather than having to justify paying something.
It closes on Thursday the 5th, so you’d better hurry if you want to go. There were probably too many people there on a Saturday.
I love the city in which I now serve. But reading that paper, while drinking that coffee (I can see the taste) makes me want a vacation in Sydney Town!
You can tell I’m reading ‘News Review’ in the Herald, because I’ve folded it over and settled in.
