I’m in for a trial this Easter.
We have friends who make a big deal of Easter Sunday with their kids. After church their family has a ‘Jesus is alive’ party with loads of food, presents (usually Christian books), bible readings, games etc etc. Laura and I were invited to join in last year. It was great.
Sounds awesome! We gave our little girl a reading light that clicks off after 10minutes at night (consisting of an old desk lamp and one of those chunky holiday timers from our cupboard). She loves it, and hopefully she’ll remember that she got it at Easter.
Lol – I was going to say, we have a big party each year with Christian presents for everyone…..but Ben beat me to it! This year we gave two of the boys new Bibles – which they are very excited about (one of the boys has been reading his daily this week – which is great!), J is for Jesus cd for our baby, some simply written Christian biographical chapter books for our oldest, and some colouring in books about Easter for some of the other kids (lol, sounds like a lot of kids now!)…I gave AB a simplified Pilgrims Progress to read to our younger two boys – which they love (I think we now have PP in seven different forms!)…and I was given a new kids Bible to read to the boys at night, as we’d just finished our last one. It was great fun. We had a feast, games, Bible stories, and even a sing-a-long around the piano!!! We make Easter bigger than Christmas, and our kids very much look forward to the day. Unfortunately we couldn’t have anyone else over to enjoy the day with us this year, due to me recovering from surgery, but next year we’ll get back to having lots of friends over to share our fun.
Wow, Ruth! That’s sounds excellent.
I’m inspired for next year.
